I just wanted to share with you one experience I have that I can’t really understand. There was this one time when I was still working, I was on my way to work and it was 6:30 in the morning. I was waiting for a jeepney to ride on to when I notice this smoking guy who was also waiting for a ride ahead of me. I observe him since he wasn’t looking; he was mindlessly huffing and puffing his cigarette. I covered my nose with my ever-ready hanky since the wind blew his smoke towards me. He turned and looked at me LIKE he was “OH SOO COOL” with his cigarette. (He wishes!) To make my story, the Jeepney came by and I got on and to my surprise the smoker guy was right in front of me, throwing his cigarette butt and blowing his last smoke outside the window. As we travel along the traffic highways, a huge 10-wheeler smoke-belching truck passed as by leaving this dark horrid smoke. (One disadvantage of riding a jeep, open air.) And guess who first complained?! Oh, yes! The smoker guy covering his mouth and nose. Mumbling about how trucks like that should be caught and shouldn’t be used anymore. I was really confused there!
Okay, first of all, I’m not a smoker and I have issues with a person who smokes irresponsibly in public. I wouldn’t be the first to say this but cigarette is FATAL! And from all the government warnings (ahem… Mr. President), ex-smokers with lung cancer or Dr. Oz warnings, its still not enough to stop most of you from doing it!

Okay, okay… I don’t want to be someone who condemns smokers to hell here. I do have friends and relatives who do smoke and I love them all dearly. And I understand how hard it is for them to just leave this bad habit.
I do have my fair share with this stuff, when I was still in college, me and my other 3 girlfriends tried to learn how to smoke. Back then I think that smoking is cool and I admire women who hold their cigarette elegantly. I tried 2 weeks, 1 cigarette a day. I didn’t like it. Why?
1. I really hate smoke.
2. My hand stinks after smoking.
3. My breath stinks after smoking.
4. I don’t find the relevance of wasting money for smoke.
For a pack of cigarette I could buy 1.5 Coke instead. ^.^
5. I know deep inside... its not a good thing.
LESSON TO NON-SMOKERS WHO ARE PLANNING TO SMOKE:
The magic word here is CHOICE! It's your life... your decision. Once you're addicted to it it's hard to quit. And congratulations you'll never grow old! ^.^ Even though most of your peers are doing it, it doesn't mean you should too. You have the choice to say NO and help save lives.
LESSON TO SMOKERS:
The magic word here is still CHOICE! It's your life... but guess what, people and nature are affected too. Do you really think that smoking is just YOUR problem? Think again. It's your decision.
Side note: Smoke of a cigarette has approximately 4000 chemicals that are very harmful to the environment. it is so harmful that study shows that is is 10 times greater that what your diesel powered car is emitting.
"I don't care about my health, so why do you expect me to care about others?"
I know this is just another "Quit Smoking" campaign and probably won't budge hard-core smoker out there but I'll tell you this... stop and think about it. Just think about it... Smoking is FATAL... not just to yourself but also to your love ones and the environment. If this post and all other warnings doesn't stop you, then cancer will.
